Today is my sweet baby’s 1st birthday so I figured it would only be appropriate to share a quick snippet of my birth story with you guys! I went in for a planned cesarean on November 8th at 3:00 pm. I was prepped for surgery for 30 minutes and Rylie Alana Clark was out of my belly within 5 minutes. She was born this day weighing in at 8 pounds 3 ounces and 21 inches long! Thankfully, there were no complications during surgery though, I thought I was going to die LOL! I think the fact that I felt paralyzed from the chest down was too weird of a feeling that It completely tripped me out haha! My husband said the whole thing was a bloody mess ?and that blood even splattered on his shoes (sorry for the tmi lol), but it was the most beautiful surreal moment of our lives! The moment she came out I heard my Doctor and nurses saying how beautiful she was and that she had long eye lashes! I just wanted to scream for joy knowing she was healthy, breathing (which was all I kept praying for). I remember the feeling like it was yesterday! It was so surreal that we were holding our baby and that we were her parents! I saw my husband smile in a way I had never seen before and it brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the way he loves his baby girl is the most beautiful thing in this world. I was able to do skin to skin right away and she immediately latched on to me! Our parents waited in the hall while we had our time with her alone and after an hour or so they came in to meet her. Im so thankful that my dad was able to be at the hospital the day of her birth. God brought her into this world the way he wanted it to happen. His timing is PERFECT ya’ll! This year has been filled with so many exciting moments and also so many moments of grief, but i rejoice in the fact that God continues to provide in a way that I look forward to and not back. One of the ways he has done that was by giving us Rylie! God has used the sweet soul that she is to strengthen my faith. I get so emotional just thinking about God’s love and all that God has done for our family! Rylie is part of God’s plan! I’m not just saying this because I am this little girl’s mother, but Rylie is a dream come true. A blessing from the Lord in a time of hardship. A few of my favorite photos from my pregnancy and her birth are below!
Our parents found out the gender of the our baby over dinner! (my dad was confident it was going to be a girl)
This was Rylie’s nursery that we set up when we found out she was a girl!
