MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE WATCH

I am so excited to announce that I have partnered up with JORD and was given the opportunity to gift my handsome husband with a gorgeous wooden watch that perfectly fit his style! I understand not many people can wear a watch everyday, but that is why JORD watches make the perfect gift! Especially for someone that appreciates a timeless unique piece like this! With the holidays coming up, I highly recommend you get a head start on shopping and visit JORD to snag your very own! They have a gorgeous selection of wooden watches to choose for that special someone in your life! Not just for men but also women!

That special someone in my life is and will always be my husband! The man behind the watch! He is absolutely loving his new wooden watch from JORD! If you follow me on Instagram, you will see that sometimes I post professional photos. Those photos are taken by my talented husband Ryan Clark who is a photographer! You can find his work here or follow him on Instagram @ryanclarkphotograph, you won’t regret it!

Sometimes as mamas we don’t shout out our husband’s enough am I right?! Absolutely loving the fact that I got to ask him these fun questions while also featuring his brand new Dover Series watch in the color Ebony & Rosewood!
How would you describe your style ?
A. I wear whatever I want, don’t try to put a label on me!
What is one destination you would love to travel to and why?
A. I’d Like to travel to Nordic countries. I am attracted to Mountainous landscapes and ways of life that are foreign to our modern culture. That region of the world has plenty of those things. I think there is also interesting history there when I think about the Viking Age, and although that region has become more industrialized, there is workman like connection with the outdoors and living off the land and enjoying creation.
What made you take on photography and what is your favorite part about being a photographer?
A. I think a drive to be creative and a desire to serve others is what fueled my decision to take on photography. I have always had my hand in some form of digital arts, whether it has been taking photos or creating with Adobe products. I think one of my favorite things about photography is that it is subjective at it’s core. I have the freedom to create my own style, create my visions and visions of others at the same time, I don’t have to be framed inside of a certain style to fit it with whats popular. This puts an aspect of appreciation from people who come to me wanting work done knowing they have seen my work and made the decisions to choose me to take their photos. Also, odd as it sounds, being taken out of comfort zone has been enjoyable. I can be a bit of a recluse, and networking and meeting people has been a fun part of photography.

What is your favorite scripture?

A. Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” The christian life is an opposition to the ways of the world. The world is content with sinning, she is proud of being imperfect and making mistakes falling back on it’s broken humanity. So therefore pursue all desires of the flesh and claim a good heart. The Christian life acknowledges these anthropological truths, but we are called in Christ to put death to sin because Christ was put to death for sin. We are not to presume upon God’s grace, or claim ignorance, but to actively and decisively smother out even the tiniest of wickedness in ourselves in obedience, in love in God. God calls us to a life of grace that is opposed to our fleshly nature, and turning from sinfulness is a grace from God. Me being a man with many struggles, and being a believer, this verse is a reminder, that my sin was placed on Christ, and I should no longer continue in it but battle for Holiness as He is holy.
What is your favorite thing to do when you have alone time?
A. Drink a  quality stout, and smoke a cigar!

What is your favorite thing about being a father?
A. At this stage of fatherhood with a ten-month old it is just looking at my daughter, thinking of the wonder of her creation, and playing with her. I also enjoy knowing she won’t be like this forever and I will grow a relationship with her and father her heart.
If you had to give one piece of advice to an engaged man about marriage what would it be?
A. Selfishness is the way of the singleness. Every decision you make is about you. Marriage is the one event in life that should unequivocally change your mindset about yourself and all your motivations. If you aren’t honest with yourself and who you were before you got married those same ways will make it’s way into your marriage and cause problems. Doesn’t matter how good you think you are. It is now about a life of sacrifice and decision making that is for your wife and family. And more often it is not just about what you should spend your money on, but how you should react and respond to things.
What is your favorite movie?
A. Dumb and Dumber, if I could get away with being Lloyd Christmas I would.

What is your favorite holiday and why?
A. Christmas. Food, gifts, meditation on Christ, going broke, it’s all fun!
What is one favorite book you would recommend and why?
A. I would recommend reading “Are We Together? A Protestant Analyzes Roman Catholicism” by RC Sproul. There is a lot of confusion today both among believers and unbelievers about what Catholiscim actually teaches. This book isn’t a long read but it lays out very clearly, and educates on the doctrines of Catholisism in comparison to Orthodox Christianity, and why the differences aren’t a matter of preferences or tradition but is a gospel issue.
What do you love about The JORD watch?
A. It’s versatile. It definitely has a cool style. The band and body are wood, and it can be worn with formal wear and casually. I have the Jord Dover series: Ebony and Rosewood, and I love it. It has that rustic feel with the rosewood band and face case, while maintaining an urban feel with the transparent face that lets you see the interior of the watch. It’s a beautiful watch that is seen consistently throughout the whole Jord product.

Some of the things that really attracted me to my husband was his sense of style, his basketball skills, his humor, his manliness, his nurturing spirit, and the fact that he always stands up for truth! I got me a good one!
