A smoothie bowl is a way of enjoying smoothies with a spoon rather than drinking them through a straw. I am a smoothie FANATIC, I literally crave smoothies on the regular and love making them with tons of fruits and veggies. The smoothie bowl is a great way to get your essential energy packed nutrients in the morning. Adding toppings like nuts, seeds and granola give it an extra crunch and also provides a balance to your breakfast! Smoothie bowls should also be a creamier/ thicker consistency like ice cream or else you’ll end up with a smoothie soup which isn’t as fun. I use frozen bananas for thickening and extra sweetness!
Try this recipe: (Use a high powered blender & build from the bottom up)
Spinach or Kale 1/2 cup
Cherries fresh or frozen 1/4 cup
1 banana sliced frozen
Flaxseed meal 1/2 Tbs
Frozen berries mix 1 1/2 cup
Juice from 1/2 lemon
coconut water or coconut milk 1/2 cup
Pinch of turmeric (optional)
